Diensten Category Descriptions

1. The Desktop Publishing Specialist is responsible for assisting in business services forms and graphics management and development in the enterprise's computing environment including the development of specialized forms and graphics relating to the business services area. Requires 5 or more years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design or experience in a related field.

Uses both electronic and manual form tools to develop forms and graphics, including both paper and screen form graphic design.

Develops forms and graphics for daily operational support.

Supports applications activities that require specialized forms and/or graphics design.

Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing forms and graphics policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion.

2. The Hardware Installations Technician performs and coordinates the installation of remote computer equipment, enterprise computing equipment, and telecommunications systems including both voice and data systems. Requires 1 to 5 years of experience in a related area, or trade school/military certification.

The Hardware Installation Technician coordinates and assists with the installation of new or upgraded network systems for the entire enterprise.

Provides vendor interface for the delivery of equipment and coordination with the construction department for physical facilities, electrical and installation requirements.

Coordinates the training schedule of personnel and assists with training on equipment.

Coordinates installations with help desk support personnel.

Coordinates the de-installation of equipment in existing remote sites per requests from operations.

Identifies cause and corrective actions for equipment problems at the enterprise.


3. The Senior Network Engineer assists with configuring and maintaining the enterprise's LAN environment. This includes implementation, configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, usage monitoring, and the development of specialized procedures relating to the use of the LAN environment within the enterprise. The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the evaluation, selection and training of new products or services, comprehensive systems analysis and progressive support methodologies for all LAN applications. The Senior Network Engineer provides direction and assistance to the subordinate network engineer staff. Requires a minimum of a four-year college degree and 6 years experience (or at least 11 years relevant experience without a four year college degree).

The Senior Network Engineer assists in system generation and tuning, system configuration, upgrades, system performance, system disaster recovery, tuning and usage reporting.

Develops tools and procedures for daily operational support of LAN users.

Supports development activities that require specialized system programming relating to the LAN environment.

Performs LAN management services including creation/modification of user profiles and account management.

Administers and monitors the procedures used to create, modify and manage client accounts.

Maintains the LAN systems filing cabinets and associated system utilities to optimize operating efficiency. Analyzes training needs of office automation clients, develops classroom curriculum and provides quality individual and group training programs designed to ensure maximum utilization of equipment.


4. The Network Engineer assists with configuring and maintaining the enterprise's LAN environment. This includes implementation, configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, usage monitoring, and the development of specialized procedures relating to the use of the LAN environment within the enterprise. The engineer is responsible for the evaluation, selection and training of new products or services, comprehensive systems analysis and progressive support methodologies for all LAN applications. Requires a minimum of a four year college degree and 3-5 years of experience (or at least 7 years relevant experience without a four year college degree).

The Network Engineer assists in system generation and tuning, system configuration, upgrades, system performance, system disaster recovery, tuning and usage reporting.

5. The Network Technician is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the enterprise data communications networks including installation and repair of terminals, modems, terminal servers, multiplexers, and leased line equipment. Requires a minimum of a four year college degree and 3-5 years of experience (or at least 7 years relevant experience without a four year college degree).

Installs terminals, modems and other equipment to support enterprise future business growth and the movement and/or expansion of enterprise units.

Responds to problems called in and repair the malfunctioning equipment quickly.

Provides support for operations, especially with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.


6. The Senior Network Specialist is responsible for all aspects of network communications at the enterprise including terminals, local area networks, Communications with remote enterprise installations, problem solving, vendor interfacing modem communications, technical training, and network security. The Senior Network Specialist must be familiar with LAN topology and software including, MSAU, servers, LAN bridges and gateways, and access products for the Internet. Requires a minimum of a four year college degree and 5 years of experience (or at least 9 years relevant experience without a four year college degree).

The Senior Network Specialist assists in designing and managing the enterprise network including wide area and local area networks and Internet access.

Provides input to management for network design, procurement of network equipment and supplies.

Monitors and tunes the enterprise's network for optimal performance.

Acts as the primary interface with equipment vendors for resolving problems.

Establishes a growth plan for the network to ensure the best quality service in a state-of-the-art environment.

Provides planning and technical support for enterprise installations.

Provides network support for operations and the mainframe side of technical support.

Provides web site programming and development and corresponding user support.


7. The Senior Programmer/Analyst develops procedures for the solution of well-defined, routine business problems. The Senior Programmer/Analyst converts these procedures into applications and programs required for computer solutions. The Senior Programmer/Analyst provides direction and assistance to the subordinate programmer/analyst staff. Requires a minimum of a four year college degree and 5 years of experience (or at least 9 years relevant experience without a four year college degree).

The Senior Programmer/Analyst maintains and modifies existing applications programs.

Writes new programs of moderate complexity and scope, working with basic applications systems designs and specifications and utilizing standards procedures and techniques.

Assists higher-level programmers on the development of complex programs.

Works on routine, well-defined analysis-type problems related to a single activity or procedure and having some variety and or moderate difficulty.

Analyzes source and content of data.

Works on computer programs usually dealing with routine record-keeping types of operations.

Prepares programs requiring a wide variety and extensive number of internal processing actions.

Participates in certain aspects of user consulting, systems and analysis, general systems design, and vendor contracts and detail systems design.

Learns user functions, organization and role in the enterprise to the extent required.


8. The Programmer/Analyst develops procedures for the solution of a variety of well-defined business problems, or for segments of complex and difficult problems or systems. The Programmer/Analyst plans the computations or processes necessary for computer solutions. Requires a minimum of a four year college degree and 3-5 years of experience (or at least 7 years relevant experience without a four year college degree).

Works independently on routine assignments.

Receives instructions and guidance on more complex assignments.

Independently programs segments of complex problems.

Utilizes some evaluation of originality but within accepted standards practices.

Performs more difficult tasks under close supervision.

Performs all of the duties required of a Programmer/Analyst as necessary to complete assignments.

Prepares charts, tables, and logic diagrams needed in problem analysis.

Develops complete descriptions of all specifications required.

Additionally, develops common operations that can be reused.

Devises data verification methods and standard systems procedures.

Advises appropriate personnel on the implications of new or revised systems.

9. The Senior Project Manager defines computer systems requirements for the solution of difficult business problems, and formulates procedures for the resolution as well as developing, implements and maintains major systems. The Senior Project Manager may be assigned to lead a major systems development project or to manage the on-going maintenance of a group related systems. Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration or related field or more than 10 years project management experience. An MBA is desirable.

The Senior Project Manager develops and maintains productive working relationships with project sponsors and key system users.

Assists users in prioritizing new development projects, enhancement projects for existing systems, and system maintenance requests.

Recommends projects to management and users for approval.

Assesses alternative systems approaches for workability and economic feasibility.

11. The Technical Writer/Editor prepares, disseminates and provides for the orderly safeguard of technical documents. Proficiency in writing technical documents. Excellent communications and writing skills. The Technical Writer/Editor provides support in the area of technical editing by reviewing the grammar, writing styles and syntax of quality materials and technical reports. Provides support by assisting in rewrites of quality materials and technical reports. Requires Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Communications, or Journalism, or related field and 5 or more years of related experience (or at least 9 years relevant experience without a four year college degree).

Manages publication process.

Coordinates with related staff including graphic designers and printers on projects.


12. The Senior Telecommunications Technician is responsible for the installation, problem diagnosis, repair and maintenance of a full range of telecommunications equipment encompassing both analog and digital technologies. The Senior Telecommunications Technician addresses issues of availability and reliability for voice, data, signal and image processing connectivity within the local and remote customer sites to support enterprise growth and the development of new business opportunities. Requires a minimum of a four year college degree and 5 years of experience (or at least 9 years relevant experience without a four year college degree).

Diagnoses and repairs equipment as assigned from system level to bench or component replacement.

Responds to job assignments such as work orders, engineering changes, and trouble calls as required.

Analyzes component requirements of new and upgraded systems.

Develops documentation to support current and to test planned equipment configurations.

Provides on-the-job training to user or other technical personnel.

Insures adherence to and documentation of routine maintenance schedules.

Provides planning and technical support for enterprise installation as required.


13. The Documentation Specialist is responsible for daily operation of the word processing center to insure deadlines are met or exceeded and work produced is accurate and meets clients’ requirements. Performs a variety of applications in the enterprise's environment utilizing software to provide timely and accurate production of client requirements. Requires 1 to 5 years of relevant experience.

Types material from varied sources such as handwritten or typed copy and codes it for machine operation according to procedures and instructions provided for desired final format.

Maintains daily priorities provided by supervisor and adapts to priority changes when necessary to meet the client's needs and to maintain flow of work in the center.

Maintains accurate record keeping of word processing job numbers to assure responsive information retrieval.

Maintains accurate record keeping of word processing time to assure accurate tracking of time.

Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with all enterprise employees in the center and throughout the organization to optimize working relationships.

Strives to increase keyboarding, formatting, language skills, and a level of technical expertise to reduce cost and fatigue in the performance of work.


14. The Senior Oracle Developer performs client requirement analysis and application design documentation preparation. Requires a Bachelor of Computer Science degree or a minimum of six years of experience in a related field with three to five years experience in Oracle.

The Senior Oracle Developer provides Application architecture design, Oracle databased logical/physical, design and development.

Provides Database and application turning. Documenting and carrying out database and application test plans.

Deploying application to client/server and Web environment. Oracle database installation and administration.

Specialized in building web enabled database applications with Oracle 8/8i, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle Designer 2000, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Jdeveloper, PL/SQL, Java, JSP, Servlets, Enterprise JavaBeans.

Knowledgeable in Oracle Database System (Architecture, Background processes, Database logic/Physical Design, Back-up/Recovery). Certified Oracle Application Developer.

Also experience in application requirement analysis, data modeling with ERWin; user interface development with Visual Basic and PowerBuilder; application testing, maintenance and support; application documentation; MS Access, Unix, Windows NT, and MS SQL Server.


15. The Oracle Developer performs set/up/implementing, upgrading and maintenance of Oracle Applications (10.7NCA, r11.03, 11i) residing on Oracle 7.3, 8 8i databases with UNIX/NT environments. Requires a Bachelor of Computer Science degree or a minimum of four years of experience in a related field with one to three years experience in Oracle.

The Oracle Developer's expertise should include the ability to recognize and recommend tuning and performance guidelines along with providing backup/recovery support.

Have knowledge of PL/SQL, SQL*Loader, SQL*Plus, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle Parallel Server, and server cartridge technology as well as experience in Data Modeling, Erwin, Designer, Java, Perl, and HTML.


16. The Hardware Support Technician is responsible for the day-to-day support of the enterprise computer infrastructure. Requires a High School degree and a minimum of three to five years of experience in computer technology.

The Hardware Support Technician is required to diagnose and repair computer equipment, to include, recovering data from corrupt hard drives.

Provides technical support for the Help Desk Personnel and processing all computer equipment requests for employees.

Handling the setting up of all new network accounts and personalizing the computer equipment, testing of the equipment, processing hard drives requests and maintaining equipment inventory.


17. The IT/Telecom Asset Technician travels to customer sites and provides a range of services based on customer requirements. Requires a High School degree and a minimum of six years of technical experience in telecommunications technology.

The IT/Telecom Asset Technician's duties include Barcode labeling of equipment, site environmental report, site engineering survey, scaled diagram of site and digital imagery of site.

Also responsible for equipment interconnecting cable identification and labeling, telecommunications circuit identification and labeling.

Responsible for all collected data to be stored in a laptop computer for future downloading to a central depository.
