EMW sponsors 36th Annual March of Dimes WalkAmerica
Herndon, Virginia, USA — On April 23rd,
2006, EMW sponsored the 36th annual March of Dimes WalkAmerica
in Reston, Virginia. The March of Dimes is a nonprofit health
organization whose mission is to improve the health of babies
by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
The March of Dimes carries out this mission through research,
community services, education and advocacy to save babies'
lives. More than 7 million people took part in March of Dimes
WalkAmerica this year as walkers, sponsors, and volunteers.
EMW served as a checkpoint sponsor for the event, meeting and
greeting participants along the WalkAmerica route. Our “spirit
station” scored high marks with the addition of EMW’s
own bubbles machine, which proved to be lots of fun for the
kids especially. EMW was part of 1,048 registered participants
who helped raise more than $417,000 for the Virginia chapter.
This was EMW’s third year sponsoring this exciting and
beneficial event. We are definitely looking forward to next
year!
